Audio Joiner

How to Merge Audio Files

A step-by-step guide to combining multiple audio files into a single file with smooth transitions.

Step 1: Load Your Files

Open cut.audio's Audio Joiner. Drag and drop all the files you want to merge, or click to browse. You can add MP3, WAV, FLAC, and OGG files — even mix different formats.

Step 2: Arrange the Order

The files appear in a list. Drag them into the order you want them to play. The first file in the list plays first in the merged output.

Step 3: Set Crossfade

Choose how the tracks transition: • 0 seconds: hard cut — one track stops, the next starts immediately • 1-2 seconds: subtle blend — barely noticeable but smoother than a hard cut • 3-5 seconds: smooth transition — tracks overlap and blend • 5+ seconds: dramatic blend — good for music medleys Listen to the preview to hear how the transition sounds.

Step 4: Adjust Volume

If some files are louder than others, use the per-track volume controls to balance them. This prevents jarring volume jumps in the merged file.

Step 5: Export

Choose your output format and export. The merged file downloads to your device. • MP3 for sharing and general use • WAV for further editing in a DAW • FLAC for archival at full quality • OGG for web use

Yes. Add as many files as you need. The joiner handles them all in sequence with transitions between each pair.

The audio content is preserved. If you export as WAV or FLAC, quality is lossless. If you export as MP3, there's minimal re-encoding loss that's imperceptible to most listeners.
